Advanced Graphic Design Sketchbook Assignments

(There are fewer reqired assignments because you should be spending twice the amount of time to complete them.)

ASSIGNMENT 19: Divide a piece of printer paper in half. Fill each half with a totally different pattern that uses only lines and circles.Be sure to consider variety in creating unique designs.

ASSIGNMENT 20:Create an arrow design.Use only arrows and demonstrate your knowledge of repetition, unity, and variety. Be sure to use the whole page.

ASSIGNMENT 21: Design a food or clothing label: Collect examples and glue them into your sketchbook. Then, design and create your own label for a clothing tag or food label.

ASSIGNMENT 22: Trademark. Registered Trademark. Company Identity Protection : Research and explain in 2 paragraphs the importance of these terms. How do they apply to the design world? Next, create your own trademark.

ASSIGNMENT 23: Bumper Sticker: Create a bumper sticker that communicates some message or represents an organization you support. Be creative. Think of readability from a distance. Make several rough drafts and one final, detailed, clean design.

ASSIGNMENT 24: Find one company whose advertisements have evolved over significant time (example - WALMART). Paste an copy of the companies  new and old logo or advertisement. Explain in 2 paragraphs why the ads have been successful. What is it about the design that visually appeals to people? Discuss in terms of the elements and principles of Design.

ASSIGNMENT 25:

Sketchbook assignments are worth 20% of you Grade. You should spend a MINIMUM of 2-4 hours on each assignment.
