Line Design Rubric

Essential Question:
How are lines used to create design?

The line design assignment is an example of the many different interpretations a group of people can come up with when they are given a simple assignment with a small number of specific guidelines. This assignment is a simple, basic element of design lesson yet it is capable of having so many different outcomes.


1. A minimum of 10 sections were created on the page with a 1/4" boarder. ____ 20 pts

2. All of the lines are drawn neatly and are parallel to each other.____ 20 pts

3. The design free of ALL pencil marks.____ 20 pts

4. Everything is outlined neatly with a fine-tip black marker.____ 20 pts

5. The is a variety of direction, style and/or thickness of lines.____ 20 pts
