Illustrator Vector Image Rubric

Essential Question:

  • What is the difference between a vector image and a pixel image and what are the pros/cons of each type of image?
  • What are some of the ways Adobe Illustrator can be used in Art and Graphic Design?
For this assignment, you were asked to convert a pixel image (photograph) into a vector image using some of the basic tools available in Adobe Illustrator - the pen tool, the warp tool, the direct select tool as well as layers, color gradients and brush styles.

1. Illustrator Pen Tool was used to create an outline of the chosen image. ___20pts

2. Color and/or gradients were added to enhance the image and create shadows and depth.___20pts

3. Layers were used in this assignment.(Each shape should be on its own layer.)___20pts

4. The warp tool and/or the direct select tool was used to help smooth out the outlines. ___20pts

5. Different outline brush styles were used to help or the outlines were omitted all together to enhance the completed image.___20pts
